Only One Way Out: Reducing Short-Lived Climate Pollutants to Curb Warming Before it's Too Late
While climate litigation has often focused on reducing CO2 emissions, Cutting non-CO2 climate pollutants–especially the short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) methane, hydrofluorocarbons, black carbon soot, and tropospheric ozone–is the best, and perhaps only way, to slow warming in the near-term over the next couple of decades.

Indeed, simultaneously reducing emissions of SLCPs would reduce warming faster in the short-term and decrease near-term health and environmental risks for vulnerable communities.

Litigants today have an opportunity to incorporate SLCPs into climate litigation to provide additional and potentially quicker human rights protections for plaintiffs. This webinar will therefore focus on relevant key scientific developments and ways in which SLCPs may --and should-- be integrated into litigation.
