a panel discussion with Rana Nashashibi, Yun Pang, & Andrea Recarte; moderated by Lara Sheehi
This panel will platform three clinicians from across the globe and take up ideas of where psychoanalysis lives and is practiced, despite ideological or physical borders/barriers. The panelists will each share their own experiences and reflect on their geopolitical positionality in service of complicating and decentering normative psychoanalytic theory and praxis.
Rana Nashashibi (Palestine): “Psychotherapy in the Fight Against the Necropolitics of Israeli Colonization”
Yun Pang (India): “Decolonizing Ourselves & Our practice”
Andrea Recarte (Chile): “Estallido Social and the Politically Engaged Clinician”
Organized by Lara Sheehi, by the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality at NYU, and by Studies in Gender and Sexuality.
