WDC, WISS & PASA Present Post-Pandemic - A Dialogue Around Inequality Facing International Residents in the USA
Although the COVID-19 pandemic has been gradually waning, its impact on our life will never fade. Inequality facing international residents in the US, including international students and professionals, is getting more and more severe. The shrinking work sponsorship opportunities, global recession, layoffs, hate crimes and incidents … and lots of factors are putting international residents in insecurity, uncertainty, isolation, and high-pressure situation. These pressures are often unspoken; yet, the challenges are real. And it’s not only about economic issues, but also health conditions and quality of life. Compared to other minority groups living in the US, international residents are relatively vulnerable as they do not have much social capital and support in this country. In this session, we invite you to join our dialogue and discuss, and to learn about the inequality facing international residents post-pandemic and how we can tackle it.
