The Technical Path to Decarbonizing Buildings

New York City’s buildings have been mandated by the Climate Mobilization Act to reduce carbon emissions starting in 2024. Building electrification and building energy efficiency measures will be the most effective tools to meet the requirements of the new laws. Daikin US and the Urban Future Lab invite you to explore the technical path to decarbonizing buildings through electrification. The event will start off with a keynote by U.S. Representative Paul Tonko, and then you’ll hear from Daikin regarding a recently completed electrification retrofit in Manhattan. Following the presentation will be a panelist session including representatives from NYSERDA, Sealed, RMI, and Daikin North America who will discuss challenges and solutions of utilizing heat pumps on our path to reducing carbon emissions from buildings.
